Vincent J. Coffey is an American artist. His prolific artistic work spans over 40 years. He was born in Brooklyn and spent his childhood in Central Islip, Long Island. He went to college at Michigan State University. He served in the Army at Fort Jackson in Columbia South Carolina during the Vietnam War. He worked as a welfare worker in the Bronx. Shortly thereafter he went to Fordham University Law School and worked for the National Labor Relations Board for over 30 years. Vincent earned a PhD. in Psychology from The New School for Social Research. In 2008 Vincent retired to focus on his art. He remains a resident of New York City. A truly unique character.
